What is the greatest music album of all time? If you ask a hundred different people to name the best album of all time, the chances are that you will not get a unanimous answer!

This web site's purpose is to achieve a means of establishing the greatest music albums of all time by using legitimate critical sources and calculating a ranking based on the rank and number of times an album has appeared in a 'greatest album' chart and then ranking the albums according to their aggregate performance.

The best albums ever, as ranked by BestEverAlbums.com, are listed on the Overall Chart page. You may also be interested in viewing the best albums of 2010, or the best albums of the 2000s.

August 2010 site update

Another site update, mainly containing tweaks to existing functionality: Added option for registered members to show/hide the 'buy' buttons (you can configure this from your profile page). Added option for registered members to show/hide the collector's summary (for those that don't find it useful). Added performance optimisations to the chart pages (faster load times). Fixed an issue where a favourite was sometimes counted twice (if an album was both in a member's chart and also in a member's favourites) - thanks to Charicature for spotting that one. We no longer show a 'best album of decade' accolade on the album pages for albums released in 2010 (this year being the start of a new decade... doh!) We've updated our store page to utilise our new price comparison engine and we now allow users to perform real-time music searches across multiple online stores. Previous/next chart links are now shown at top AND bottom of year stats and individual charts. Fixed a bug with the 'previous chart' link sometimes not displaying on the chart pages. Added a few site statistics to the how it works page. Loads more miscellaneous tweaks and enhancements More soon... albummaster
