Once again religion gets in the way of common decency. The boy scouts stood for something good. Now they stand for religious stupidity. And all the while most people in the organization (especially the kids who it really is supposed to be about) don't give a shit about the politics of it all, but now are forced to defend themselves. Sad.

A lot of people suggest that God does not create natural disasters. He simply created the world as it is and he lets it run its course. A double standard if I've ever seen one.

The end of the US federal supreme court session is at the end of June. We should expect some sort of ruling any Monday of this month. It's a burden of a decision for the judges and people involved. I hope the supreme court uses every available moment to consider the best route to equality.

About what I would expect, except I expected to be more Libertarian, though I guess I really shouldn't as I am still in support of things like airport screenings and the death penalty.

Before I had always been around -4 for both, but I did realize that during the 2012 Presidential race I was starting to shift to more ideals supported by American Libertarians rather than platforms carried by Democrats and the Green Party who I had mainly agreed with before, and would have voted for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, except I missed turning 18 for a few months.

I hear you but that sounds like an instance of forced perspective. There isn't any evidence for the quota system. What is legal is admission counselors taking race into account along with a myriad of other characteristics and accomplishments. Their job is to keep dropout rates low and infuse diversity. All things being equal, diversity is such a crucial part of a university, I can't help but think its important to have healthy representaion of all applicants to facilitate discussion and prevent groupthink. But affirmative action is unethical and suggests fundamental problems with education, among other issues. Away with AA!
