Custom ranks
The ability to add a custom rank to your user profile has now been added for Level 8 users. The custom rank will be shown on the forums and other areas of the site (where space allows).

Forum similar topics
On the forums, when you create a new topic, a list of similar threads will now be displayed. If your topic is similar to an existing one, you are (optionally) invited to post into the existing thread instead. This will hopefully help to make the forums a bit easier to use.

Average rating algorithm
The average rating algorithm has been updated to use the item average instead of the average of all ratings, and a change has also been made to reduce the impact of troll votes on an item's average rating. Previously, outlying votes could disproportionately affect an item's average rating, but now ratings will be excluded if they lie more than three standard deviations from the item average.

Sorting collections by average rating
Added the ability to sort your collection, listened, comments & favourites according to, not just your own rating, but also the average BEA rating. This will help you to discover the 'best' and 'worst' releases in each of these lists according to BEA members.

Other changes:

Added the ability to sort the individual chart composition elements, and to 'show all' the elements.
The current album (or chart) of the day is now highlighted on the relevant item page.
On the top bands page, all points from an artist's related acts are combined together to make up the grand total for each artist, but you can now choose to show or hide the child acts (rather than these being shown by default).
Fixed a couple of issues with the album and band suggestions when adding entries to your chart e.g. some suggestions were not being displayed when titles contained certain characters such as ampersands or ellipses.
Added the ability to sort the 'My Chart' page by rank.
