I'm also pretty shocked that you guys don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe it is an American thing.

But I'm sure you guys have encountered people like this at some point. I mean, look at Naples. He complained about shit all the time. Do you think it was because he thought he was going to convince us to adopt his point of view? Of course not, it's because he liked being pissed off.

People tend not to talk about politics in the UK, either to avoid controversy or just because of apathy. Either way I don't ever see the type of fb posts you're talking about.

But yes there are people who seem to have a need to be outraged at something at all times, it's why people read newspapers which only tell them how shit everything is, it's not really a mindset I can understand though.

I don't mind people talking about politics, really, I just wish the most vocal ones weren't also the most pig-headed.

Maybe. Do you ever see obnoxious partisan partisan bumper stickers in Canada?

There is a lot less obnoxious partisan-ism in Canada, likely because we don't do as much radical gerrymandering down here. The closest thing I have to anything you guys are taking about is this one dude who keeps posting about how pot will cure cancer, but that's about it.

Check the CBC News comment section, or responses to Andrew Coyne's tweets (and anything said by Rob Anders). Obnoxious partisan crap is alive an well in Canada... but I agree - nowhere near the political climate of the US.

Is it weird that I have like 500 Facebook friends and never see posts like this?

Nope, I don't tend to either. I mean, I have a couple of conspiracy theorist friends who think tobacco is "government herb" and whatnot, but nothing on the level the OP is talking about.

Well yeah, I still have one friend who thinks the moon landings didn't happen, but the universal opinion on him seems to be that he's a fucking retard.

I think the same. I am frightened when the loudest one is the most pig-headed and talks very agressively about his/her perfect opinion on everything.
Even if I have very strong political opinions, I think it's better to shut up most of the time.

Same here, and frankly, that's why I don't really post here.
