I chose 1984 to prove to myself that there is no such thing as a bad year in music. The mid 80s, like the mid 70s is often considered a dry spell. Like the mid 70s, the music world was in between scenes. Post post-punk, hardcore, & New/no Wave and pre-the alternative rock explosion that would begin to roll in the late 80s. And, boy oh boy was I right. 1984 kicks ass. Check out my 1984 chart if you don't believe me. I pretty much LOVE every single album in my top 40.
I'm right with you on that one, '84 is my favorite year in the 80's. Haven't checked out as many albums as you have, but after checking out your chart I'll be sure to round out what I've missed on your top 20. _________________
