I'm seriously torn & will end up ranking them latter this week after maybe a couple re-listens. Love all five albums from both teams and most of the singles. Will probably end up siding with '93 since all five of those albums could be in my overall without hesitation.

fuck you guys for making me choose. this is rough. 1993 has my Gentlemen and my favorite Yo La Tengo record (among other great records), but 99 has goddamn Summerteeth, Things Fall Apart and Keep It Like a Secret.
I've giving it to 1999 with the very very slight edge thanks to a trio of albums that have all been on my overall chart at some point _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Went with 1993, but not by much. That Emergency & I + Keep It Like a Secret + Things Fall Apart combination is fantastic (even if I don't care for Summerteeth or that Opeth album), but the singles are pretty limp (even the one song you'd likely expect me to love, 'Everything is Everything', is the weakest single from its parent album). Now, I've never been able to get into Exile in Guyville, but those other four albums are all excellent, particularly Midnight Marauders (which is an all-time favourite, and the best Tribe album), and both 'Start Choppin'' and ''93 'til Infinity' are better than anything from the 1999 singles team. A shame, because I'd have voted for that 1999 team in plenty of other matchups, but a weak singles team and the fact that it's up against Midnight Marauders work against it in this case. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Maybe it's because I'm American, but I find that album impossible not to love. I think it's Wilco's best, lyrically, and pretty on par with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Yeah, I completely agree that it goes blow for blow with YHF for Wilco's best production to date.

Oh, I don't care for YHF either. Or Wilco in general, actually. They're OK, I guess. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Quite possibly. I don't know anybody who likes Wilco. Well, not anybody under 50. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
