So I picked up one of those seasonal movie preview magazines, and I gotta say I didn't see a whole lot that caught my eye. With the exception of Manchester by the Sea and Elle, I don't know what else is out there, wondering what everybody else is anticipating. Though... is Felicity Jones going to make me watch a fucking star wars movie?

Ahh they're finally making American Pastoral. Perhaps I shouldn't (cough) judge a book by it's cover but just looking at the project I have pretty low expectations, or perhaps it's just going to be tough to live up to one of my favorite books, but it's always a good thing to be pleasently surprised.
Yeah there are couple of more that actually look vewy, vewy promising, particulary The Eyes of My Mother and Moonlight (though I doubt both will come down here to Nashville), but still not too much that's immediately eye-opening, guess just wait and see what's worth the now-exorbiant ticket price.

Speaking of American Pastoral and exorbitant ticket prices, it's playing at TIFF today I believe. Some reviews should be out about it later today.

Lav Diaz just got the Golden Lion at Venice. Guess it was about time he got his due
Tom Ford getting what's essentially second place is also super promising.
Emma Stone got the Volpi Cup for best actress too. Pumped to see La La Land

Okay, I'm going to either see Arrival and Doctor Strange this Friday, or Arrival and Tower. Which combination do you think I should take part in, Hayden?
