i listened to a lot of sacred bones this past week, and my impressions of the artists i heard goes something like*:
jenny hval
zola jesus
the holydrug couple
blanck mass
marissa nadler
amen dunes pharmakon
nice face religious knives
wymond miles case studies
marching church
all-in-all, i'm quite impressed with this label (follow them on soundcloud, etc.) | there's a continuity to the artists they work with, but there's not too much redundancy... they seem to like experimental/atmospheric/dark/organic music. n.e.weigh, this was cool. thank you to hayden for sharing their BC promotion last week.
*i went with color-coding because i hate assigning numbers to these things. consequently, my ratings are pretty binary on this site. i give a 100 if something i like/would listen to again. 50 for the 'meh' that i don't necessarily care to hear or not hear again. 0 for those somethings i'd rather go the rest of my life without stumbling on ever again (and sometimes wish i could unhear). n.e.weigh, my binary ratings are pretty useless for discussion (and i suck at assigning a 60-65-70-75-80-etc), so i went with colors. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.
