Anyway, this would make for an excellent playlist, probably to be listened to chronologically to have a feel of the evolution. |
Chronologically would be very cool... You could hear how music has evolved. I'm going to look into this - maybe a playlist...
On another note - I wonder if they considered the 666 tracks of influence, but realized it would mean too much Dio? |

Very good list, however, Fatboy Slim and MC Hammer?? I'd remove those two and give Pearl Jam and Radiohead another track each ('Alive' and 'How to Disappear Completely'). _________________ "Bunch of opinionated, hipster twats!" |

I agree that Pearl Jam and Radiohead vastly outstrip Fatboy Slim and MC Hammer. Maybe Rolling Stone gave credence to their influence - Fatboy Slim had landmark videos and highlighted the surge of electronica in pop music in the late 90s (Chemical Brothers as well) and MC Hammer pushed poppy hip-hop forward (and sold loads of Pepsi). Shaping is not the same as quality, I guess. |

Really??
I quite like this list. There are some strange choices, but as a whole I'd say it's pretty damn good! _________________ Spring break... forever
