I also just want to say thanks for the site Smile I've been a member for almost a year, with pretty much no complaints (well...a few about members, but that's expected)...

Keep up the good work Cool

Yep, thank you so much, AlbumMaster!

I don't know about you guys, but I personally wouldn't mind spending $1-8 dollars a month to keep this site alive. While having new features to go along with the payment is nice, just the ability to keep this going will be enough to make it worth it for me.

Keep up the good work, AlbumMaster!

Have always loved the site, just started becoming more active recently and greatly appreciate what a wonderful thing you have going here.. I might just be speaking for myself here, but if the option is run out of money or advertising I dont think most people would mind a little advertising that terribly much. Especially if we are just talking about your standard banner ad that just sits there and not pop ups , hover ads, etc.

Laughing

By the way, I still don't like the idea of a premium membership by paying a FEE, but I do like all the other ideas.

it will be optional, but premium members will get extra features and it might help to keep the site going and subsidise the site for everyone else.

I love the idea of the extra charts, especially ones for fun or novelty that don't count towards the rankings. I also support charts based on tags.

Great site, great work albumaster. No complaints. Well done. =D>

Thanks for all your work. Monetizing sites fairly is always the big headache in web publishing. I think you should offer users a variety of options including the ability to just donate. You never know when you'll catch people in a charitable mood.

A "To donate" button sounds to me like a brilliant idea. Not to replace the premium member fee but in addition, and, might I say, likely should come first (easier to set up if I am not wrong). I know I would never pay a fee to become a premium member but I have at times in the past willingly and freely donated to similar sites which I found cool just as a support. This is a particularly effective option if you know that a few regulars come and post here when drunk.

Furthermore, while I think the tag charts is amazing, I really think the thematic or "for fun" chart is what is truly missing from this site.

I mean i sure would love to tell everyone what was 25th favorite album of 1987 but frankly I thought 1987 sucked music wise and that there were not 25 albums deserving of a BEA mention published in that year.

However, I definitely would like to hear from people who consider themselves knowledgeable or amateur of a given music style about which album they consider to be the best in that genre through a list designed specifically for that purpose.

I know i have been defecting a lot to RYM lately for that reason. There is a limit to how interested I am to what everybody thinks is the 25th best album of 1987 or much any year for that matter.

My 2 cents.
