How do the Stone's albums sound? I have Exile on vinyl, which sounds great, and Bleed on CD, SACD, and vinyl, none of which sound too good. I am beginning to think Bleed wasn't mastered well to begin with.

Actually
I only have a crappy record player with crappy loudspeakers, so evrything sounds like crap on it.
I intend to buy another one in the future, but let's just say I'm more of a collector than a listener at the moment. |

When you can, get the best loudspeakers you can afford (which doesn't necessarily mean the most expensive) and then the best phono cartridge you can afford (same thing applies). All the rest of the components only offer marginal, if any, improvements to the sound. Don't believe what all the hi-fi magazines tell you.
Also, buy used. People who buy these kind of things tend to take care of them so you don't lose much by buying used. |
