Yesterday's listens :
The Horrors, Skying. Needs more listenings, I wasn't paying attention enough.
Peter Hammill, Enter K. Good.
Tom Vek, Leisure Seizure. Tiresome.
Blood Stereo, The Magnetic Headache. Very good ambient/avant-garde stuff.
The Fugs, The Fugs. Excellent garage/protopunk stuff.
Tom Waits, Small Change. Not my favourite Waits as a whole, still very good on account of some killers inside.
Bobby Blue Bland, Two Steps From the Blues. Remarkable, on the 'blues' end of rhythm'n'blues. Late 50s-early 60s r'n'b at its best.
The Killers, Hot Fuss. See Rating Game.
Robbie Basho, The Grail & The Lotus. Less fascinating than the other Basho I have listened to. Some boring numbers even. Will listen to it again though.
Best listen of yesterday : Blood Stereo, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, The Fugs. Need some more of those. |

Just finished James Blake's debut album. Not sure whether I find it pretentious of clever. Get back to you after a few more listens.... _________________ I go through all this before you wake up |

I like what Norman does
Today's new listens (might listen to another 1 or 2 albums today...) :
Sonic Youth - Goo (80/100)
Pogues - Rum, Sodomey & The Lash (80/100)
Albert Ayler - Spiritual Unity (70/100)
ZZ Top - Les Hombres (70/100)
Paul Revere - Midnight Ride (60/100)
Germs - (GI) (50/100)
Barry White - Can't Get Enough (30/100)
Slightly disappointing, but not a bad day
And re-listened to Daydream Nation & Beatles For Sale Both changed in my ratings. Daydream went up to an 80/100, and Beatles For Sale went down to a 70/100 _________________ ~Hayden

Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory
Not sure about the vocals, but need to give it a few more listens. |
