I liked it. It was very Kate Bushesque, and I think this might be a better album than Hounds of Love. Also, "This Is The Picture" sounds a lot like NIN :O

rating is missing, unless you don't rate albums... Smile

Okay, I'll give it a 65/100.

I'm reviewing The Queen is Dead.

I actually liked it a good bit. Since I couldn't find it on Itunes, I had to suffice with a set of pirated MP3's, but now that I know how good it is, I'll probably end up buying the CD soon.

It sounds like a strange mixture of the Clash and Radiohead, which is a mix that works really well. The lyrics are sorta dumb at times, but the riffs are memorable enough to get your attention.

75/100.

Elbow - Alseep In The Back 80/100

Thanks to this album, i've completely changed my mind about Elbow (i've listen to The Seldom Seen Kid 2 years ago), from a so so band to a very good one. this album is Brilliant nothing to skip, starting with "Any Day Now", with its Trip-Hop touch, excellent ! some tacks after "Powder Blue" a powerful melancholic song, then "Bitten By The Tailfly" which reminds me of Joy Divisoin's "shes lost control" i think that the inspiration is quite abvious. next "Asleep In The Back" sublime, with the combination of an ideal rythme and voclas of Guy Garvey .... and then comes the best song of the album "Newborn", the song begins shyly but in the end it becomes pure genious !! after that nothing outstanding but 5 beautiful songs...

Guys, I feel cheated. I took the time to listen and review two albums (one from Harkan, one from Cartoken), and I didn't have anyone review anything from my chart.

I was about to review Daydream Nation, but I won't until someone at least does one for me.

Thanks. Though I made three reviews, Harkan's response being from the first. I was just commenting about the other two. Thanks.

From Cartoken's list :
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell (2003)
I like It's Blitz a lot and Show Your Bones is good but I've never listened to this album.

Review: Fever to Tell is more raw lyrically and musically than their later albums. I like all of the tracks and love some of them (Date With the Night, Black Tongue, Pin, Maps, Y Control and Modern Romance). Karen O is stunning in this debut. My initial score was 80 then I went and watched some of the songs on Youtube which caused me to raise my scores. Yeah Yeah Yeahs need to be seen to be fully appreciated. I agree with Cartoken that Fever to Tell is a great album. I still prefer It's Blitz! though because it is easy to listen to and that's where I'm at these days.

85/100

Don't be sad Applerill. I happen to own Evanescence - Fallen from your list, but have never ever listened to it. Going about that right now.

Funny, because I was thinking of removing that from my chart Surprised

Anyway, my brother is a huge Iron Maiden fan, but I've never listened all the way through PowerSlave before. I'm gonna go check that out.

Alright, this is a pretty tricky album to rate. On the one hand there is some really good guitar work, both in the compositions and in the performance, but on the other hand Amy Lee's vocals are unbearable and the whole thing comes across as yet another teenage style look-at-me-I'm-different-and-am-gonna-bash-anyone-who-is-not when there really isn't that much different at all. Sorry, you should remove this from your chart. Not a stinker, but not good. Rating 50/100. Best songs: Bring Me to Life, Haunted.
