Black Sabbath, Black Sabbath (from Applerill's chart)

And again, another very pleasant surprise from a band (and a genre I must say, as I have always taken good care to avoid any trace of hard-rock in my collection) I didn't expect to please me in any way. Mind you, it still not is my dope, but the heavy atmosphere worked on me, even though I don't think I will recall any particular song, apart from that harmonica intro Cypress Hill sampled for "I Ain't Goin' Out Like That". I'll give it 60.

So, next, from Cartoken's chart, it will be Hercules & Love Affair, by Hercules & Love Affair. I already know, and like, "Blind".

Finally, Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth (from jerekho's list, I think). 70/100.

I've listened to it about a dozen times since I said I'd review it. Just couldn't come to a decision on it. I don't dislike it, but at the same time I just can't get into it. It mostly becomes background noise for me - the songs have no real meaning or connection for me. I'd heard Silver Rocket before...Teenage Riot, which some of you say is a massively great song, does nothing for me. Meh. I can listen to it when it's on, but I can't say anything is great about this album.

I want to listen to something I'm likely to enjoy, so I'm going with Heaven Up Here by Echo and the Bunnymen, deep within Thomas697's chart.

Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children 60/100

i've never been able to really get into the sound of Boards of Canada, but this album has many good moments (Telephasic Workshop, Sixtyten, Aquarius).

going to listen to Wire - Pink Flag from cartoken's list

wow can't believe it's taken me this long to get around to doing this.

Pink Flag - Wire 75/100
love the energy/chanting/humour/melding of the instruments
only got into post-punk in a serious way the last year but this was really enjoyable. only time will tell if it becomes a favourite of mine or falls off the radar.
