Hmm... Interesting. I'd appericiate the album more if it only lasted for half an hour instead of a full hour.

I'll try Ágætis byrjun from Mother Nature Son's chart.

That album definitely wasn't my thing...

I'll try They Could Have Been Bigger Than The Beatles by Television Personalities from NormanBates' chart. I'm familiar with the band already and The Painted World is a personal favorite, so this will be a great opportunity to discover their music further.

Joanna Newsom's Ys (from Pam's chart)

So I have always seen this bandied around as an amazing album of the last decade. I've never thought of giving it a listen and now, after doing so, I feel my life has stayed relatively the same.

Chamber folk or whatever genre you wish to call it, not a strong point for me. Newsom's vocals are good but I found some phrases grated on me (especially in 'Sawdust & Diamonds'). The musicality is great and shows a talent within this field of the album's creation.

The highlight track for me is Cosmia which is the shortest and the final track on the album. It finishes off Ys perfectly and it just has something (don't know what) that makes it stand out.

A decent album but not breaching my top 100 of 2000s in the near future. Mind you, a lot of albums would find that hard at the moment. 800 albums just in the 2000s in my library is a difficult ask.

80/100 - Squeezed inbetween Jose Gonzalez's In Our Nature and Echo And The Bunnymen's Siberia

none of us liked it on first listen either

The first album reminiscent of rap/hip-hop I've listened to.
Although it took a few tracks to get into it, once I did I was amazed by all the different sounds used.

Fantastic. 90% (with the potential to be higher in the future)

I'm glad you liked it.

I LOVE IT!!! Very Happy

I've listened to many so called "psychedelic" or "baroque pop" bands from more recent years, but this blows almost all of them out of the water (not to mention it kicks Beach Boys' ass).

I will give it more listens before I rate it, but this is going on my main chart for sure.

You've got great taste, Mother Nature's Son.
And Denmark's got great music.

=D> Very Happy

Thanks gussteivi, I'm glad you liked it. Your comment about Beach Boys actually makes me question whether I like this album better than Pet Sounds or not! Think

Well, that's a shame. Think I have to hear it again soon, only listened to it 3 times. I might have overrated it because of that.

Maybe try again in a few months or a year, that's what I did.

Thanks purple and Pam. Will keep it in mind.

Can't rate anything tonight except drafts for year 12 English.

By the end of this week, I think I would finish with listening to it.

I liked it a lot! Solid album, equal to The Painted World.

I won't choose a new album right now.

Ok, I'll give Comus-First Utterance from Mind Movie's chart an in-depth listen, because I haven't really.
