Pretty much what the title of the thread says...

I am currently "trying" to finish listening to the BEA-1000 chart. Listening progress is good, 825 / 1,000 (83%) currently.

How about you? What you're up to, musically?

Cheers,

Nick

i am currently trying to listen to all of the albums i have rated in BEA as a 70-or-higher. I have them all compiled in a list -- more like multiple lists -- from 1 to (almost) 900. I'm currently around #530 and hope to be done sometime next year. My ultimate goal is to ensure that all of my favorite albums are always on my smartphone all the time, along with all of my favorite songs.

At the same time, i'm compiling a list -- again, more like multiple lists -- that rank all of the albums i have BEA-rated as a 65 as well. When I've completed both of these simultaneous projects following finalizing the 2014 year, i will have an official top ~2000 album list.

Afterwards, i plan on being music-listening-project-free for a while.

I'll copy you actually. I was done to 50 albums on the overall this time last year and now I am 35! Surprised I should be able to listen to them all!

Recently, I've been trying to delve deeper into my favourite genres. Getting into more Trip-Hop and Post-Punk and I will make Shibuya-Kei a thing on this site.

Always being pulled in several directions but one theme in my listening lately is familiarizing and refamiliarizing myself with the careers of virtuoso bassists like Bill Laswell, Colin Hodgkinson, Fred Chalenor, Les Claypool, Mark Sandman, Sasha Frere-Jones, Mike Watt, David Sims, and Jah Wobble.

Being working through Rolling Stone's Top 500 album since the latter half of last year for nostalgic purposes.

Aside from that I've been trying to expand my listening of more 'international' albums.

Other than that I'll listen to whatever I'm in the mood for.
