I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it as much as I would expect either. It's just a bit meh.

Well, I do love John Rassmussen's piece on it for his blog Cut Shallow Radio. He considered it the second-best album from 1988-2007 after OKC.

Sorry, my bad. 1987-2006. I haven't read through this list in half a decade, so it's a bit fuzzy for me.

Pretty average considering the hype. A few great rock hits, but mostly boring 80s butt rock/hair metal.

Oh... and people give Bono shit... Bono is like the great Buddha or Gandhi or something compared to Axel Rose. I like how Kurt gave him shit.

The most overrated album of all time. Welcome to the Jungle has a cool intro and Sweet Child O Mine has a cool riff. WHAT THE FUCK ELSE IS THERE TO LIKE ABOUT THIS ALBUM. It's whatever, but how in hell is this in the top 100 albums of all time? Top 500, sure. But top 100? Really?

Now this is a fantastic album from start to finish. If you want 100% no compromise rocknroll from start to finish this is the perfect album for you.
Of course it is a bit uneven since about half of the tracks are pure rock classic and the other half is only decent, but man those good ones do rock. Paradise City is overrated as hell though. Rocket Queen is the best track.

An interesting mix of dark hard rock and catchy riffs and melodies. It was a revelation at the time and a necessary step in emerging from the hair metal era, but it hasn't aged well for me. I never listen to it anymore and if any of the hits come on the radio, I'm likely to change stations.
