Following my recent write-up of Hot Buttered Soul I decided it was high time I acquired this:

Black Moses by Isaac Hayes

First UK press, practically mint bar a bit of shelf wear (records look barely played) - a steal at a fiver on eBay when it's going for £75+ on Discogs. And here's why:

Rastamouse approves, as he does of this which I picked up earlier in the week:

My Life In A Hole In The Ground by African Head Charge

UK 1st

That Isaac Hayes pressing is pretty awesome ^ didn't know that it was designed that way.

As for me, I'm quite glad to have picked up a pretty awesome haul of classics that I'm happy to now have in my collection.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake

Transformer by Lou Reed

1999 by Prince

Exile On Main St. by The Rolling Stones

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan

All in ridiculously good condition from a used bin. Pink Moon and Highway 61 were basically new, still in shrink. It only came to $32. Can't complain. Transformer by itself was only $2. Probably the best find/haul I've ever had.

It's great when you bag a haul, especially at a reasonable price. Oddly enough my copy of Transformer (think it was a 2nd UK press) only cost me the princely sum of 50p, which would suggest that if you spend more than the cost of a cup of coffee on it you're a fool.

Cool packaging.

Also, I'm realizing your avatar might be a real thing I'm not familiar with?

It was rad to see a stuffed animal of it. Well played.

The local Oxfam had a vinyl weekend just gone, tbh I wasn't expecting much but so pleased I got out of bed early and popped along. Picked up....

In Ribbons by Pale Saints

VG+ condition with the bonus 7" single £15. Have been after a decent copy of this for a while now so really pleased.

The Frenz Experiment by The Fall

VG+ condition with the 7" bonus single £10

+ a copy of that Sonic Youth/Mudhoney split 12" single (Touch Me I'm Sick / Halloween) in near mint condition £6

Oddly enough I got rid of my copy of Frenz (with single too) recently for a tenner. That Pale Saints LP is a good buy - picked mine up at a record fair last year.

I'm on the verge of making my most expensive ever vinyl purchase in the next 24 hours - just in a period of negotiation but it's been something I've been after for yonks. In the meantime, feast your eyes on what I got over the weekend:

Mash it up.
