And the quote "Well, it's one for the money....." was actually on Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes", which was later covered by Elvis Presley. So, technically, it is Perkins' line, not Presley's. _________________

A lot of people don’t have much food on their table
But they got a lot of forks ’n’ knives
And they gotta cut something

Actually that doesn't really make sense if you take it out of context, I'm guessing the whole verse is too long so nevermind. _________________ Shut up mate you're boring! |

Impossible to check all 40 pages of suggestions here to see if I’m duplicating. But here are some faves that have likely been missed.
“As the radio plays Roy Orbison singing for the lonely, hey that’s me and I want you only.” – Bruce Springsteen (Thunder Road)
“Turn up your radio and let me hear the song” – Van Morrison (Caravan)
“And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like Jelly Roll” Van Morrison (It Stoned me)
“I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old” – Van Morrison (Into the Mystic)
(I could go on with the Van Morrison… all those are just from one album)
“Baby I feel fine! I’m pretty sure it’s genuine.” – The Tragically Hip (Blow at High Dough)
“We’ll stay inside til somebody finds us/ Do whatever the TV tells us.” – the National (from Apartment Story)
“We're living in a strange time, working for a strange goal, We're turning flesh and body into soul”
– the Waterboys (Strange Boat)
That's just the tip of the iceberg for now.... _________________ Top Canadian songs, beer antiques, beautiful watches, whatever... |
