Quite easily their best.
The organ in "I Get Up" is just ball lickingly fantastic. _________________ "I’m like, the anti-celebrity, and my music comes from a place of being anti." - Kanye "Yeezus" West |

Maybe not the best progressive rock album of all time, but it's up there, and it's certainly next to In the Court of the Crimson King as the yardstick by which other prog is measured. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

This is what I think, with the exception of the "great album" part. The Symphonic Live version of the title track is absolutely magnificent, though. |

What makes the title track interesting from a compositionary point of view, besides the ball lickingly fantasticness of the organ in "I Get Up", is the fact that a bunch of rock musicians manage to create a 20 minute song using very little thematic material, and it actually works. I wouldn't compare it to Beethoven, but the idea of taking a theme (or two) and expanding upon it to create an entire piece of music is the same.
Plus, "And you and I" is bliss. |

I agree with Jhereko. At least as far as the "easily their best" part goes. One of the best albums ever created in any genre IMO. |
