Simple question- who is better Pink Floyd or The Who?
I see them as somewhat contemporaries. I would have included Led Zeppelin in this, but then I realized how much better they are and there would have been no contest. |

Pink Floyd.
Why? Because I like listening to them more than The Who. (Both are amazing though).
Also. Pink Floyd > Led Zeppelin. The Who vs Led would be a tougher matchup for me.

Weirdly the one I don't have on my chart  The Who
Because...Pete Townsend is awesome and becauuusseee...they're just a generally more likeable band.

Now see that's just silly. It might be a "no contest" for you, but for most people it would make their choice more difficult. Just look at the charts to see why
As for the thread, I should listen to more of The Who to say for sure (only know one album), but I still view Pink Floyd as the best band of all times, so... |

Yes, a Led Zep vs Floyd would be interesting.
What is funny about the Who is that they are always named among the greats but never as the greatest. A little like The Kinks too.

Pink Floyd. No contest.
The Who never made a single album that I would call perfect, or even all that great. Pink Floyd created two utterly flawless albums (Dark Side and Wish You Were Here) and three near perfect albums (The Wall, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and Animals). |
