I also listened to top 40 radio...but it eventually set me on the road to my current tastes and I left it behind (thank God for the brief meteoric rise of alternative rock).
But it was worse than emo back then...Michael Bolton, Shanice, Mariah Carey (not that I ever liked her at all)...thankfully it was a very brief phase. _________________ <(: @ > |

Well said. Who cares what people think, right?
Along those lines here are two bands it's not cool to like and I recently came to terms with the fact that I like them anyway, so there!
The Monkees (I went on a Monkees kick this summer. Real band or not, they had some great songs)
Green Day (Listened to Dookie again for the first time in ages and you know what? It's a solid album!)
Anyone else felt guilty about liking a band and no longer feel that way (guilty)? |

I think we should have a "confessional box" thread, where we could admit to our musical sinnings past and present, but then Mr 8 tracks has a point... I am unrepentant!
But to get the ball rolling, how about this:
Forgive me Lennon/Presley?musical god of your choice, for I have made sin-age in my peer group's eyes, I have never felt the need to confess, but will anyway... I have always liked, and still do like Phil Collins first Three albums, and you know, I always will!!!!...SO FUCK YOU!!!
Does that sound like the thing we're looking for here? |

I just can't believe I liked Color Me Badd |
bush and stp arent terrible. one could do worse :::ahemcolormebad:: ...but trying to actually listen to them now after discovering music that is vastly better is difficult. _________________ "Here are the young men, the weight on their shoulders." |

| You'll have to forgive me. My father had a deep love of Phil Collins and him and I have a very strained relationship. Collins, thus, takes on a negative association because of my own feelings of inadequacy. But you're still a fag. |
