I am opposed to it for the most part as well. However, I'm having trouble voting on this because the question is if people have the right to do it. I can't really decide. _________________

That's quite the statement. That's probably the primary issue that comes into question when discussing suicide. Who is obligated to who? Why? Tricky stuff. _________________

Laws can't stop murder, but the murderer will know what punishment is coming to him if he gets caught. What about a person who commits suicide?
This is a question of morality, if anything. It's fine if you don't think people should do it (I disagree), but to make it illegal is just silly and implausible.

So you're equating suicide laws to gun laws. The laws that control the means should not be outlawed, but then once the crime is committed, then a punishment should ensue? So then attempted suicide should be punished like attempted murder would be? _________________

But something being "not right" or "unethical" (and again, I disagree with you on whether suicide is that), is completely different for a person to have an "obligation" not to do it.
I don't think being a drug addict is ethical, but why should it be their "obligation" not to do it.
