Splitting it would just lead to a war on how to split it. Dammed if you do dammed if you don't I mean this is not a war of self determination. ISIS Just want to create their own Islamic world, without kaffir mind you. They would not stop just because Iraq split. I mean they already don't respect the Syrian boarder

relevant as we're sure to see tons of people not educated properly in Middle Eastern history giving bullshit analyses of Sunni/Shia divides on CNN/NBC/Fox in the coming days

http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinio...68151.html

also, R.I.P. ISIS as the name - definitely rolled off the tongue better than the Islamic State.

Huge gamble, ISIS putting a lot on the line here man. That being said it could be a brilliant play.
Most interested in seeing how the states will react to this, it puts them in a very sensitive position. If they help with the expulsion of the IS our of Iraq it could lend validity to the new Caliphate and draw the ire of all of the young jihadis turning the young jihadi recruitment
Pipeline from large IS representation to an IS monopoly.

IS continues to splinter the jihadi community though which will hurt them in the long run (especially if this caliphate folds). Most jihadi organizations have yet to issue a statement but while there has been some dissenting voices (AQ, al nusra) it seems like there is good support, most northern afica organizations support it and AQAP seems like they are cautiously supporting it, or at least sympathetic, which is surprising

I am surprised they chose to call it a caliphate, I would have put my money on dawla

Here is IS's actual statement in English

Feel lucky to have the BBC when I have been watching the spat between that Fox guy and Russell Brand. What a lunatic.
