Eminem relies on humor on this album more than he did on any other which makes it perhaps his most entertaining, but it's not cartoonish like Encore as there is still plenty of dark moments.
junodog4This is rap's Sex Pistols moment. Rap was getting stale, trapped in the overproduced cliched shit of the late 90s. How many artists followed the rags to riches/drugs/parties/hos and bitches/outsmart cops/guns/bling formula? Eminem was a breath of fresh air. A strong lyricist with underrated flow, he took rap in a snarky new direction. He also benefited from Dre's best work.
Despite this, like the Sex Pistols, the influence and impact of this music overshadows the fact that it's actually quite average. Eminem's best work came later.
Beginning of three masterpieces Eminem would drop between 1999-2003. Sadly, it's all been waaaaaaay down hill ever since Encore.

defintiely introduced is to the wacky mind of eminem. in my opinion his best
Eminem at his rawest lyrically and production-wise. Best tracks: Rock Bottom, Still Don't Give A Fuck, 97' Bonnie & Clyde. A modern rap classic.
