Indigo Mood is amazing. But Frank just bores the hell out of me... sorry. Funny to see Little Richard right after this. That is man you could never fall asleep to!
The strings in this album are so beautifully dated.
I wonder what makes them sound so different to what we hear today.
Subdued and introspective... Not as swinging as his other albums, but warm and intimate. Above all, that smooth, effortless voice is always there.
Feels like having a cigarrette a drinking some whiskey....
if you ever do LSD, listen to this album. even though the lyrics are depressing, the mood it creates is a wonderful air of chill nostalgia. i can only compare it to a 3 year old on christmas morning
The world's first true concept album. Before this, albums were random collections of a performer's greatest hits with no real thought or order given to the sequence and themes of songs on an album. A classic.
I love the sound and cohesiveness of this record...it's so dark and yet warm. The title track, Mood Indigo and What Is This Thing Called Love? are my favourites
