Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.1/100, a mean average of 75.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.3.

Amy Amy Amy...you made a perfect debut album. Sad that she only put out a couple of albums before her unfortunate passing.
I listened to this a few times in Nov 20 and thought - nah. She sounds a bit whiny and over the top with that 50/60's singing. But I re-listened in Dec 20 and found it much more interesting. No longer whiny. Digging the jazz influence and the modern beats to accompany the 50/60's influence. I think it will grow more. Stand out track for me is the end track Amy Amy Amy...
Frank is at least at good as back to black. Love the jazzy vibe !

She was only 19 when she recorded this. She was the staple badass of the 2000s; a modern Joan Jett or Blondie (with a jazzy rnb twist that the 2ks demanded). Fucking incredible woman
Jazzy and complex for such a young artist. A stepping stone to the even greater Back to Black
Amy's album I like the most.
I did not like "Back to Black" as much but I rediscovered it with my new subwoofer. Amy's music needs deep bass. What a loss we've lost her.
I think this album may even be better than Back to Black. Listen to the song, "Amy, Amy, Amy." It's got a horn, what I think is a snare drum, and just the tiniest hint of guitar, and Amy's voice and her lyrics. Listen to the phrasing of the that song. Her appreciation of Frank Sinatra is apparent. The song is like a narcotic, like an aphrodisiac. The whole album is really unbelievable. She was 19 when she recorded this. The lyrics to the songs she wrote -- they're usually the lines men give when they cheat, but coming from a woman -- wow. The songs written by Amy foretell her eventual sad fate, how she kept falling for bad boy/losers. Her voice was husky, raspy, powerful, and beautiful, one of a kind. It's too bad no once could save her from herself.
Brilliant, a great album to relax and chill out to. Definitely her best album.
