Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Following the seminal 'Stoneage Romeos' we all held our breath for The Gurus next album & 'Mars Needs Guitars ' is what we got . And it good , quite good in fact . I place it at 3 in their catalogue behind 'Stoneage ' and 'Blow Your Cool ' . The only track that sucks is 'Poison Pen ' everything else rocks. On a side note is it possible 'Hayride To Hell' is a play on words tip of hat to ACDC's 'HIGHWAY TO HELL'? Its got to be doesn't it ? And finally as a massive Gurus fan I saw them play promoting this album at the Bundaberg Tavern , I was a teenager at the time and quite possibly this concert was the greatest thing that had ever happened in my short life . I've never forgotten that concert .
Great Aussie rock. Stand outs include Bittersweet and Like wow
