swedenmanUgh. Brief moments of brilliance here and there, but boring as hell (and way too long) for the most part.
Grandiose, melancholic, and ultimately a very life affirming record in some ways.
I find this album addictive, only had it a couple of weeks but cant stop listening to it. There aren't any standout tracks that would be obvious hits but the whole album just has something about it that captivates you. Only had Standing on a Beach singles collection which I've owned for 20+ years but never fancied expanding on that. Glad I have now as this is far better than all their previous singles put together.
sethmadsen 01/14/2013 08:14I remember my sister playing this album all the time when I was a wee lad. I never really put it on to listen to it myself till today. Awesome album. I like the musical landscape/tone and the deep dark and spooky of the era. I think Lullaby brought my sister to capture daddy long legs and feed them.

Pure concentrated emotion.
An undisputable masterwork from a great artist.
The last and best of a trilogy of fantastic Cure albums. "Head on the Door" and "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss me" being the other two. Nothing they did before or after matched the 85-89 period for me.

Onetwo12Love Song is my least favorite song- that's how good the rest of the album is.
