The group's more intense and debauched recording. The perfect middle group between Red Roses For Me's break neck traditionalism and If I Should Fall From Grace with God's (relative) pop tendencies.
lethalnezzle 02/27/2013 23:44Great lyrical punk, in essence. I absolutely adore this album.
The Old Main Drag, Dirty Old Town, Man You Don't Meet every Day and Waltzing Matilda (this last not an original) are all heartbreaking lyrics and performances. Sally McLennane is a raucous celebration. The rest is unfortunately overshadowed by those damnably awesome tracks, but never mind that, this is a classic.
A raucous jig in a boozer with the pissed up bloke in the corner... highlights 'Wild Cats of Kilkenny' and Sally Maclennane'
an_outlawThe Sickbed Of Cuchulainn is absolutely fantastic! Raised a smile on my face despite the song being about death. The Band Played Waltzing Matilda is also one to check out on this.
