Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. I agree with MEZ - John Hiatt is criminally underrated as an artist. This album features some of his finest work, and there isn't a throwaway track on here. Highly recommended!
Most of John Hiatts stuff is solid to very good. This album being very good. Very underrated artist imo. MEZ
Great CD. Getting Ry Cooder to play along was genius. Hard to single out songs 'cuz the whole record is strong. But I think "Memphis" and "Lipstick" are faves.

If not one of the best, certainly one of the most underappreciated and underrated songwriters of all time.
