Quite repetitive but a nice early album.
Lady Jane's intro always gives me chills ! Neil Young borrowed the tune on his song Borrowed Tune on Tonight's The Night.
lol
High and Dry by Radiohead
Out of Time by Blur
Take it or Leave it by Strokes
Like A Hard Day's Night by the Beatles, this is where the Stones began to take shape as a great band.
Paint It Black and under my thumb amazing. I like the use, probably one of the first, of distortion on the bass.

The best album from the early Stones. This is the sound I like most with the Stones. They were really a singles band at this time but tthe songs make up great albums still.
Blast the difference between UK and US versions... It means either way, you're missing good music. I guess that's why they made Flowers. Anyway, this is the first really interesting Stones album - previous efforts had been strong, but were simple blues-rock. By this point, they were branching out. Paint it Black is fantastic, but don't overlook Under My Thumb or Dontcha Bother Me.
Ahh....The first really good Stones album!! They wrote all the tracks for this album (the first time for them). They have a string of hits on Aftermath but the non-hits are great as well.
Surprised to see this record ranked as high as it is. Far from my favorite early Stones, though it _was_ their first album comprised exclusively of originals. I owned the U.S. version, which culls off some of the weaker tracks, and substitutes the great “Paint It Black” for the equally great “Mother's Little Helper.” MLH is the only true stand-out on the UK version, though there are some good tracks. The Stones were starting to find their true voice, which would fully emerge in the Beggar’s Banquet through Exile period. Baby steps.
Again, mine is the US version. This is probably their best early album, it has almost everything.
