Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.6/100, a mean average of 64.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.2.

Full of hits and even those that weren't singles are catchy. A good pop album
Clássico moderno de R&B e Bubblegum Pop! Nascimento de um astro.
stale dreck
What Bruno Mars lacks in a coherent track list and lack of theme, he makes up for with spirited vocal preformances with catchy hooks. Overall, the music is good, but does not feel right put together. Looking past that though, the singles off this record are some of 2010s best.
This is the best top 40 music gets. It's on par with Michael Jackson in my opinion. The guy has some serious talent and just does it in pop music. Prejudice. But yes I agree it lacks substance. So does some indie stuff on this site which is ranked pretty high.
Bruno's got a great voice, style, and knack for hooks, but this album lacks substance. His songwriting might have been enough to win over the girls in high school, but it isn't enough to make a lasting impression. Overall average, it sounds like many other debuts by young pop industry stars. But Bruno does offer enough humor and sincerity to convince me that he has untapped potential that can potentially set him apart.
Crap seal of approval? A little harsh... If all top-40 music was like this, it wouldn't be so bad. It's super catchy, and even though he wears his influences on his sleeve, Bruno Mars sounds fresh compared to some of the re-hash these days.
I totally dig Liquor Store Blues, rest I don't care for.
I thought the entire album was quite enjoyable (of course, the first half had the singles); unfortunately the lyrics were pretty poor - a definite area in need of improvement.
The first half of the album is really promising with a great comercial ear and phenomenal hooks that show why this guy sells what he sells but the second half feels downhill and it is a pity. Lets just hope that in the future he learns from his mistakes to make a more consistent material
