HEAVY!! Sweet Leaf is a classic stoner song and Children of the Grave is among the best Sabbath songs. This is often considered to be one of Sabbath's best works.

100% perfect masterpiece.
The production is so mysterious sounding with Ozzy just wailing about death, destruction, and drugs, all the usual for him. The Riffs are even better on this than on Paranoid.

Great album from my home town boys. If you want to know what Birmingham was all about in the early '70, It's right here.

The darling in satin, some time classic and bigun of Black Sabbaths best day. In almost all discographies this one would have been the great. Here it is wedged between the unholy holy hell behemoth 'Paranoid' and this bands "underrated gem" and technical masterpiece 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'. Going in its favor, here lies the 'Children of The Grave' where the drums pound their forgotten names, lied to until the sun stops burning, and 'After Forever' rile against those who burned what they didn't understand. SO yeah, this is War Pigs part 2. Not entirely though. The long tracks of 'Paranoid' are usually left behind for... smaller ones. Shorter but not in their mind. 'Embryo' contains a light ditty which seems to point to future Black Sabbath chill moods like 'Changes' and 'Laguna Sunrise'. I can't really think of a word to describe it so I'll say it is a stage where it is really small and not yet fully conceived. Still for all that change, Black Sabbath have really taken baby steps away from the first two. 'Into The Void' is a dystopic tale of woe and vinegar. Guitar work is top notch and makes itself known right from 'Sweat Leaf'. I mean this could be the album you go to if you like the first two and... well I'm bringing up the first two a lot aren't I? Perhaps that is telling something?

This album is REALLY short (six main songs with two short interludes), but it's really catchy. I personally like "After Forever" the best.
