I love metal, both with clean vocals, and screaming, but for the love of God, don't mix them. Instantly dismissible album. That being said, the music itself is quite tasteful.
no, thanks.
Still Day Beneath the Sun is missing from the tracks

Truthfully, Blackwater Park isn't their best, even if that's the reputation it has. Check out Still Life, the one I recommended earlier, and also try "Ghost Reveries" and "My Arms, Your Hearse".
Thanks 40footwolf! I'll have to listen that and this again keeping that in mind. I can barely remember anything from last time I listened to this.
Outlaw: It's largely due to their tasteful progressive nature, in that they manage to incorporate things like classical influences, folk and choral arrangements into traditional sounding metal music without coming across as pretentious. That's quite a feat, in my book. Check out "Still Life", I think you would like it more than Blackwater Park(which I saw you gave a low rating).
So I see this band called Opeth breaking into charts often. 4 or 5 of their albums have reached the top 1000 here and they seem pretty respected. My question: Why have these guys being chosen over hundreds of other metal acts?
Hate growled vocals. Love this. Congratulations Opeth, you break logic.
Swedish prog/death, really enjoyable. Check out their 2008 release Watershed as well
