SilverWalrus 02/05/2013 02:44This right here is a band that doesn't understand what makes them good, and it's sad to see. It amazes me how they can write great songs like Aberdeen and Around My Head, and then turn around and write shit like Sell Yourself. They need to stop writing about media and industry stuff and stick to the personal, because they have absolutely no subtlety and it makes some of the album impossible to listen to. Hopefully they can realize what makes them good, but I'm not holding my breath.
Very uneven album. A few decent tracks but also some bad.

ShaneSpear 05/14/2011 14:54A vintage (hate that word) 90s Alternative Rock album in 2011. Sounds an awful lot like Pavement and Pixies, but whatever. Its not like they are rushing to put out new material right now, are they? Middle of May, and this is probably still my AotY.
BorkAnother strong album from Cage the Elephant. The singles are weaker this time around and as has been noted the album sort of dies after the first half which leaves it behind the debut in overall quality. Best tracks: Aberdeen, Always Something, Indy Kidz, and 2024.
