Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 74.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

Good album, though like Chicago's debut, it probably did not need to be a double album, which just makes it a hassle to listen to sometimes. That said, there's a lot of very strong material here for an excellent single album—Fancy Colours, Poem for the People, It Better End Soon, the always excellent 25 or 6 to 4, and the underrated prog-jazz epic Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon (which includes the singles Make Me Smile and Colour My World). Cut the fluff and I think you've got a superb record here.
Jazz, Rock, Classical, and Soul all rolled into one. Featuring a guitarist once referred to as Jimi Hendrix as "Better than me," Chicago II is a hidden gem that everyone should give a listen. The best part is definitely the middle.
More soul and less rock than on the first one, but it's still another superb album from when Chicago were clearly on a roll. Another double album too. Underrated.
Like the bands Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra, listening to Chicago records was been one of the better way to love jazz music for the 80's young people.
Highlights: Make Me Smile, Colour My World, 25 Or 6 To 4, Movin' In
Quite the body of musical work. It's just not my thing. Jazz, Rock, Classical mixed together, and that's quite cool... I just quickly lost interest.
Heavily underrated and I strongly encourage anyone to listen to this.
Some listeners today might be repulsed by the easy-going sound. Really, what they're hearing is that easy-going sunny seventies feel that's been all but lost today. Terry Kath's soulful vocals shine in "Make Me Smile", "In the Country", and "It Better End Soon", while his guitar blazes "25 or 6 to 4"
Most of the album was kind of boring, but not necessarily bad. It caught my attention near the end with "It Better End Soon". The song's title is exactly what I was thinking before heard that song. Anyways, nothing special, but enjoyable at times.
You know what? It's better than expected.
