A French language album - Oh! The Horror! Offenbach was the first real Quebec rock band. They proved that it could be done while both remaining true to rock and true to Quebec - without falling into either traps of "folk-it-up" or "sell-our-souls". Unfortunately that album originates from an "enclave" mini market (Quebec) which prevented it from ever getting international exposure. If that album was English language singing, it would stand up there where it deserves along the pantheon of the greats.
