A rough, but highly enjoyable rock and roll record. Song quality is consistent throughout, my second favourite KOL album behind Because of the Times.
Going back and listening to this now it seems strange to think this is the same band that conquered the world with Sex on Fire. It's ramshackle homespun southern country rock but it's their ability to fill the songs with so many little hooks that elevates this. Talihina Sky may well be my favourite hidden track ever and that they had the confidence to hide this wonderful little piano song away shows the strength of the album.
I was stunned how low this album ranked. We need more KOL fans to find this site because this album is awesome. KOL are one of my favorite bands and I have no problem agreeing with the people above that this is their best work. The fact that Only By The Night is ranked as their best album on this site is a travesty. I still like it, but it my least favorite of the 5 they have.
If you like 60's and 70's rock I do not see how you can dislike this album because it is straight from that era and so was their look when they released it. Joe's Head is written from another POV of Hendrix's Hey Joe. Molly's Chambers, California Waiting, Red Morning Light are amazing songs and there is not a bad song on it.

The best tracks are "Joe's Head" and "California Waiting".
