Joni Mitchell is a goddess. If THOSL was her Sergeant Pepper, then Court and Spark is her Revolver. This album sees Joni at her peak, and the music is a wonderful fusion of jazz and folk.

The jazz-iness is a nice change for Joni; "Twisted" is a great cover.

I love this album, I like all her albums,well I shouldn't say that. some of her albums in the 80s I didn't really like... I don't think that I have a favorite from her first 10 albums....this album exploded in 1974 selling more than 2 million copies.(#14 for the year)

I disagree. For me, her supreme masterpiece is Don Juan's Reckless Daughter followed by Hejira and Blue. This is nevertheless a great album - one of her best but not quite the masterpiece many folks claim it to be.

Joni Mitchell's 6th album is her masterpiece. She introdued elements of jazz into the album, which would dominate her later work. But this one balances her folk rock style of the past with jazz perfectly. Her songwriting is as strong as ever...there's not a single weak track. With help from David Crosby, Graham Nash, Robbie Robertson, Jose Feliciano...and even Cheech & Chong, it's almost completely perfect. This is a must have album.

Mitchell went further into jazz after this album and saw her popularity wane with each album. She still records, but concentrates more on her painting (she did the album cover).

It is arguably her most complete work from start to finish.
