Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 74.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.1.

The best Beirut album.
Pop and easy, shiny and bitter.

As this band progressed they got away from their big band sound that made Gulag Orekstar so great. This album is more pop-y but still has aspects of the brass that makes them so good.

Many reviewers seem to think its his best album to date. I'm not there yet, but it definitely has some great moments.

I love nearly every song on here intuitively. I must say I enjoyed the conversation in the comments down there.

Reminds me very much of the great group, Fanfarlo. The first half of this album is remarkable, but the last half wades in mediocrity. Their use of horns is refreshing.

@gussteivi I'm not sure what you've been listening to but 'boring' is the least appropriate word to describe all those artists.
