Do not listen to this album for lyrics, because they kinda suck. Listen to this album for the production, voice, and drumming! That's what Nevermind is all about. Key tracks: Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, Lithium, and Polly. It's EXTREMELY hard for an album to be this good and have such poor lyrics.

When I listen to Nevermind, I need to be in a grunge mood to enjoy it.

*OPINIONS*
From "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to "Polly" is just wonderfully done; matches the critical and audience acclaimed perfectly, however my biggest gripe with this album is the second half, as it's not that memorable and sounds like a lot of noise. I can see why people like this album so much; they can relate with the lyrics and has a very distinct sound to the entire album - Kurt Cobain has my respect as an artist. It's still very well made and has aged better than most albums of todays standards. Though what I don't understand is how it's so high on the overall chart, I mean, how can an album warrant an acheivement like that. It should be in the top 50, but #6? That's way too high!

The exact moment when the American underground that had been cultivated over the past decade bubbled over into the mainstream.

Hard to overestimate importance, but sounds a bit worn these days. Prefer Pearl Jam's Ten, even Alice in Chains Dirt.

It's ok but seriously over rated. If it wasnt for Smells Like Teen Spirit i doubt Nirvana or this album would be half as popular.
