Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.5/100, a mean average of 73.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.3.

3 chords and that is it!
This was Quo's first album after switching to the Vertigo label, and it set the tone as they headed towards their peak years. Something of a transistion, it still had the heavy blues-rock feel of their previous two albums, but the band were clearly refining the boogie-rock template that brought them greater success in subsequent years.
The single 'Paper Plane' saw them return to the UK's top 10 after a few years in the wilderness, while 'Don't Waste My Time', 'Big Fat Mama' and their cover of The Doors' 'Roadhouse Blues' remained live favourites for many years. Hidden amongst the hard rock is a little gem in 'A Year', which proved that they could do softer tempo tunes without the cheese that would spoil some of their later efforts.
Top tracks: Paper Plane, A Year, Don't Waste My Time, Big Fat Mama
The first of the five classic Quo albums (and maybe the best). This is when they really find their sound. Among the rockier tracks there are also a pair of bluesier and softer tracks that contribute to a good dynamic. Best songs is Big Fat Mama and finishing The Doors cover Roadhouse Blues.
Fav track would have to be Roadhouse Blues. Superb. The early '70's Quo were a seriously good band.
Great variety on this one. Two Great Heavy Rockers with "O Baby" and "Big Fat Mama", Two Great Ballads with the Slow, Gentle Blues " Unspoken Words" and the Gorgeous "All The Reasons", Prog Rock Stoner, with excellent three-part harmonies, " A Year", A Stomping, thunderous version of "Roadhouse Blues" and an underestimated Rock 'N' Roll Classic "Don't Waste My Time". Fabulous Album I just Never Tire Of.
Love the Quo this being one of their heavier bluesy no. alot of people favour this album re released recently I saw the Frantic Four twice this year and last Brilliant 'Don't Waste my Time' my all time favourite Quo no.
