Back when Elton was poor hungry and driven. It shows - the songs here are raw and emotional. Levon and Tiny Dancer are here and they're classic Elton at his best.
"tiny dancer" could be considered on the short list of "signature" elton john songs, heading a solid 70s album for elton and company.
BEAUTIFUL SONGS...FAVS. TITLE TRACK AND "LEVON"
This is Elton John's most listenable album. Every song is worthy of singing along with...you just gotta sing with it!
Another strong Elton John album, however, personally, I find this less entertaining than both the album before and the one after. The title track is magnificent.
ditto..really an amazing album. His voice was at its peak of interpretive power. the arrangements, the music, the production all work so well together for me. listen to "Indian Sunset" when he sings.."its lonely , and its quiet"..one of the few examples when a pop singer uses vocal dynamics and phrasing to match the meaning of the lyrics..usually that only happens in jazz or classical.
