Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 73.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.7.

An album filled with energy that is surprisingly consistent considering the length of the record and the length of some of the tracks. When I first heard this album several years ago and I looked at the run time I was certain that I was going to find a bloated release that really dragged itself out and became extremely repetitive. I was very shocked and happy to discover that this record is nothing like that. It manages to stay fresh for the whole run time with its sounds being completely unique from track to track. The energy is maintained as well with it sounding just as fresh when you start the album as it does when it finishes. The samples are amazing and work perfectly in the songs they are used in making for an infectious listen that really gets stuck in your head. Some of my personal favourites are Voodoo People, No Good (Start The Dance), Break And Enter and Poison all of which have phenomenal samples. What impresses me the most about this record though is the sheer emotion that is captured for us to enjoy. The passion, aggression and frantic nature are staggering and they never fail to overpower me when I listen. Overall, this is a unique and exciting record that flies by with every listen and is a must experience for anyone even if they aren't a fan of electronic music.

There are some great sounds on this album - Poison, No Good, Voodoo People and Their Law. But the songs are too long and repetitive and it's not my cup of tea. The album drags on a bit too much. Maybe if most of the songs were half the length this would have been an easier listen and I'd grade it higher.

This is one of those albums that make me think this is how music is supposed to be. It does what it has to do to be good, and leaves all other unnecessary bullshit. It introduces a sound and shows what it can do. If that sound is truly good and original, you don't need to convince your audience with anything else. Good beats, good sounds, good variation. The sounds on the foreground though; this style depends on the sounds being satisfactory, as with most electronic music. Best sound can be found at the start of 'The Heat (The Energy)'.

I still prefer this one than the "blockbuster"'s Fat of the land. It's dreamlike and innovative. One of my sounfs of my youth's 90's

Climatic, innovative, aggressive, energetic, one of 90s defining albums. Definitely a must listen and a classic
