Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.4/100, a mean average of 69.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.3.

The Bitch is Back, Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me and Ticking are all among John's best tracks, the latter being an unappreciated gem. The rest of the record is a mostly disappointing mixed bag. Its sandwiched between two of his best records, but Caribou appears to have been quite rushed.
Este álbum fue el que siguió al descomunal Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Quizás eso hizo que parte de la crítica no lo valorará como merece. Para mí, es de los mejores trabajos de Elton John. Fue número 1 tanto en USA como en UK.
Not his best from his amazing early 70s stretch, but certainly better than Too Low for Zero, which is ranked higher here.
'You're so static' best album track in my opinion ,'Stinky','Pinky'are ok tracks, the two hits are clearly the best here though as mentioned several times before.
Starting to fade. A glimpse of what was to come.
One of the lesser seventies albums from Elton John. Caribou, named after where the record was recorded has only two songs of any note in, the bitch is back, and, don't let the sun go down on me. It's not bad, but certainly not one of Elton's essential LP's.
The beginning of the end for Mr. John. He should have released fewer records and concentrated on quality not quantity.
The follow up to GYBR suffered in comparison but on its own this is a great little collection of songs. Not the best album from the golden era 1970-75 when 9 studio albums were released but also not the worst Rock of the Westies is not as good as this. Best tracks are The Bitch Is Back ,Pinky, Ticking & Don't Let The Sun.
Other than the 2 hits (Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me and Bitch Is Back), this album is surprisingly weak. I had it on vinyl back in the day, never bothered to get it digital. It is the only album from Elton's start through Captain Fantastic that I would NOT recommend.
