More majestic, soaring vocals out of shearwater on this release. In hindsight, it seems "Rook" was the apex of the shearwater career, but this is still quite a beautiful sounding indie rock album, spacious and breathtaking in fleeting moments, with a darkly beautiful gem in "you as you were".
