Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Even though it's not to be taken seriously, these guys can produce some fucking good tunes. Took me a little while to really appreciate this album as I found it to have a bit too much talk/skit pieces throughout (very juvenile humor; cocks, fucking etc) but the more I've listened , the more I've actually found those bits amusing. An enjoyable album

If you’re looking for another Tribute unfortunately it’s not here. What you do get is lots swearing, lots of dick jokes, and lots of toungue in cheek humor. Some of the skits between tracks are kinda funny, most I didn’t and a couple down right puerile. After Tribute the next best track would be CITY HALL/ I BELIEVE MEDLEY coming right at the end & clocking in at 9 minuets ( stick with this one there’s a twist close to the end) . So there I’ve done it listened to this album wire to wire, apart from Tribute I won’t be returning.
Rarely does album make you laugh as hard as it rocks. Tenacious D provides the self aware loser band album we always needed.

It's not the best Tenacious D album, it's just a tribute
Jack Black is probably some kind of retard Captain Beefheart sprinkled with Nickelback DNA (semen). This album is entertaining. I'll leave it at that, everybody.
Way better than it has any right to be. Very funny stuff with some good music backing it.
Fun ride. Amazingly these guys actually can really jam!
Who would've thought that you could take comedy & rock and come out with a successful result? This album is very funny and more importantly, the music is fantastic! Kyle Gas is a great player and Jack Black is not only fun but a good singer as well. There are other artists that do comedy music (Flight of the Concords and Stephen Lynch) but no one does it better than Tenacious D!!!

I can't really get a handle on how well (or how poorly) this album has aged over the last ten years. It was one of my favorite albums, and I've probably put tens if not hundreds of spins on it since its release. But I think I've played it maybe twice in the last two years or so.
I know how my personal opinion of Jack Black has taken a nosedive as he just seems to get more annoying to be as time goes on. There's still a number of good songs here, and KG is still extremely on point throughout the whole album. But as much as I try to separate Black from his character on this album, it just kind of bleeds in. Maybe I'm just grouchy in my old age.
