I am not a Smith's fan, and listening to their entire discography didn't change that. I remember listening to them growing up a bit, but I feel they haven't aged well. Morrissey has an amazing voice, and some good lyrics from time to time, but the music is pretty average at best... to me at least.

Morrissey and Marr both see this as their best work, and I'm almost inclined to agree. I think I still prefer the Queen is Dead, but there is very little material on this album that is ever less than astounding

My least favourite Smiths album as some songs tend to be a bit by-numbers and workman-like. In particular, A Rush and A Push, Stop Me, and I Started Something. However, that being said Girlfriend In A Coma, Last Night, and I Won't Share You are utterly brilliant.

Great album. I have made a pilgrimage to the road sign on the cover. It wasn't the same one because it was stolen soon after the album's release.

Released just as the band broke up, Strangeways had a style and production value that was a deviation from their earlier albums. Still it was a spectacular album of offbeat pop that drew both praise and fire from critics and fans alike.
