Mirage is the most elegant and melodic Meat Puppets albums. It also has some of the strongest songwriting in the Meat Puppets catalog. Gorgeous country-folk songs like Confusion Dog mingle with the silly Get on Down and I am a Machine and the melodic ballad Wind and the Rain. An essential record from their excellent SST era in the 1980s.
